Roamin’ with Roman (theroaminroman.com)

Effective date: October 19, 2026

This is a personal travel site and blog run by Roman in Arizona. It is not a business. This page explains, in plain English, what information the site collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

Things you choose to send us:

  • Recommend a Place form. If you use this form, we receive your first and last name, your email address, and what you type in (the place or city, the country, what to do there, food to try, and anything else). The form also passes along the page you sent it from.
  • Emails. If you email hello@theroaminroman.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write.

Things collected automatically:

  • Like almost every website, our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested) to keep the site running and secure.
  • The Recommend a Place form records basic form activity (for example, whether the form was started or submitted). This is sent only to our own site, not to an outside analytics company.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook pixels, advertising trackers, or any other third party analytics on this site.

2. How we use it

  • To read your travel recommendations and reply to you if you asked a question.
  • To keep the site working, secure, and free of spam.

We do not send newsletters or marketing emails unless you clearly sign up for them.

3. We never sell your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. There are no ads on this site.

4. Where form messages go

Recommend a Place submissions are emailed to Roman. They are not saved in a database on this website. Emails to hello@theroaminroman.com are forwarded by an email forwarding service to Roman’s personal inbox. Messages are kept only as long as they are useful and then deleted.

5. Third party services

These outside services help run the site. Each has its own privacy policy.

  • Hostinger hosts the website and its server logs. A small Hostinger script also loads on each page to support signup forms. There are no signup forms on the site right now.
  • YouTube (Google) provides the video player embedded on the Home page. When the player loads, YouTube may collect information and set cookies under its own policy.
  • ImprovMX forwards email sent to hello@theroaminroman.com.
  • Google (Gmail) is the inbox where forwarded email and form messages are received.
  • OpenStreetMap supplies the map pictures on the Map page, and unpkg delivers the map software. Your browser connects to them directly when you view that page, so they can see your IP address.

Links to other websites (such as event pages) are not covered by this policy.

6. Cookies

This site itself does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Some cookies or similar browser storage may still be used:

  • The YouTube player on the Home page may set its own cookies.
  • The Hostinger script may store a small note in your browser if a signup form is shown.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time.

7. Children

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

8. Your requests

You can ask us to tell you what information we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Just email hello@theroaminroman.com and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if the site adds a store or a newsletter. When we do, we will post the new version here and change the effective date at the top.
